Show your support for National Foster Care Month

Blue Ribbon Showcase

The National Foster Parent Association (NFPA) is a proud supporter of National Foster Care Month. And you should be too!

Start now to develop creative ideas to promote National Foster Care Month this May. You can tie blue ribbons around a tree, on your mailbox, in a door wreath or any other place it will be noticed.

Take a photo of your showcase and send it in. NFPA will display your works of art on this blog, Facebook and Twitter feeds and you could enter the showcase to win $100!

Remember to be creative. Want to know how we came up with the above Blue Ribbon Showcase? Check out the items we used, all from Michael's craft store:

Wide Blue Ribbon

Blue Ribbon with Sparkles

Glue Dots -- wonderful invention!

Stickers

And voila!

You can also use smaller ribbon pieces and hang them on tree branches, like below:

A fun idea is to hang a ribbon for each child you've fostered or for each child in foster care in your county. Or have an event and showcase blue ribbons in a design -- this would be great for state and local associations!

And now for the good part...

NFPA will award three prizes of $100 each, based on creativity. Photos must be emailed to T. LaShaun Wallace at lwallace@nfpaonline.org by April 30 to be eligible for a prize (please include your name and phone number with your submission). Winners will be selected May 10 and notified by May 13.

Winners’ Blue Ribbon Showcases will be posted on NFPA’s website and featured in NFPA’s monthly newsletter.

So go get your scissors and blue ribbon ready...
